I concur, on both points. I'm sick and tired of hearing about them when we have so many suffering right here that never get talked about, but yeah... if there isn't change before the weather warms, I have a feeling we'll see it here.

Middle East Revolutions Empty Re: Middle East Revolutions

Post by Phillymg Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:36 am

I know some might question defending the CIA.....but truth is truth.

Lester Holt on NBC News reported yesterday what took place between Thurs. & Fri. in Egypt. Apparently on Thurs. nite the Egyptian high military council told Mubarak to resign. (That was the coup MrGolf said would happen.) Mubarak agreed.....then went on State TV & couldn't bring himself to do it.

This is why CIA director Leon Panetta told a congressional committee on Thurs. that it was highly likely Mubarak would resign immediately.

After Mubarak delivered that rambling speech on Egyptian State TV Thurs. nite.....the Egyptian high military council was furious. Very high-level military officers threatened to take off their uniforms & join the protesters. Mubarak was finished from that point.

Fox News keeps saying that our CIA doesn't know what it's doing because of what Mr. Panetta said Thurs. I guess Fox News doesn't care about the truth. Fox News is willing to endanger our nation's security.....anything to get that black man out of the White House.

My son and I were talking about that today and I told him I thought we would see that kind of protest here this year. My son who is a veteran of afghanistan told me we will not be allowed to do that here-the military would be sent in to clear the area and people would be arrested.
I told him that people who have not had jobs for 2 years have little else to lose and just might be willing to go to jail...............................at least jail has free food

I am very happy for the people of Egypt that they were actually able to get regime change with peaceful protests. I think that is the only way we are going to end up getting real change in our country. I just hope that our police and military stand down and not harm protesters like they stood down in Egypt.

I read one of your last posts on the other forum and I saw that you have come to the conclusion that there is a conspiracy to hide the true unemployment numbers and that you do realize the WH is in on it. cheers

The revolution will not be televised (at least completly)

But will be covered by Facebook and twitter.

Incidently it takes money to finance software develoment, and there are several Annonymous web browsers that are freely available to the public.
Rumor has it that those software developers are at least recieving some money from OUR CIA/NSA?Central banking spy fraternity.....Interesting.

Do you expect anything less? Who do you think that Google, Facebook, Twitter, and all of them report to? Yep, they are spies for DHS.
Is that a V you've got there above that cat?

Hi Jen. Cool

Don't believe there's a conspiracy to hide 'the unemployment ##s'.....at least not a *new* one.....since the BLS has been using the same methods for decades. Still think that whatever 'hiding' methods they're using for U3/U6 & the Nonfarm Payrolls is basically the same methods as the govt has always used.

However the conclusion I've come to is about a *NEW* conspiracy.....the fed govt's unwillingness to produce *the ## of exhaustees/99ers*.....which they could do easily. The WH's latest trick is to take a piece of data from the U3/U6 survey & try to pass it off as the ## of 99ers. What bs. Just because one of the Household Survey questions asks if someone's been looking for work 99-259 weeks doesn't mean the answer to that question has anything to do with the exhaustees/99ers.

Supposedly NELP has come out with a report that says in 2010 there were 3.9 million 99ers.....but it's unclear whether that ## includes *all* of the exhaustees or just the ones who got 99 weeks. For that matter it's unclear that the report even EXISTS!! All we know is that Art Delaney says he has a copy--
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/10/2010-unemployment-benefits-exhausted_n_820957.html
But the NELP site doesn't have the report. All I could find is this--it has someone's name & contact info so I'm going to email her--
http://www.nelp.org/page/-/UI/2011/nelp.eb.beneficiaries.method.pdf?nocdn=1
What good is the report if only Art Delaney gets to see it????????????????

While this subject is well above me on the reporting standards used and methods but how when you trust anything when each week the numbers are given and if they are a extream surprise as they say " unexpected" and then the next day they say "revised". thats configuring them so they are easily promoted in a positive light no matter what the true numbers are shown as! I will stand by this! Because every time the numbers and reports are revised to a total positive light!!!! That is very revealing to me! I also know that if many tmes the negative reports are published weeks in a row that does affect public attitudes and opinions and sentiment and they do not want that! So hype it until reality sets in and if reality is really negative consistant then the results usually follow, jobs, lay offs and the false hype no longer works again! However the opposte can occurr too! As things are hyped as positive and we are slowly , slowly improving then it could put attitudes in a positive mode and take off from there. A president is not sppose to do or say anything that cause false realities for obivious reasons. those who have end up out of office and quickly found out IMO!

They have not once really discussed the fact that the people of Egypt are Free (or as free as they have ever been), they talk like many (sorry) Republicans, that the only thing that matters is why did we walk away from a Middle Eastern ally and how will people trust us. This is far and above all of our pay grades to debate, because none of us knows the ins and outs of accords made with these countries, however, people in Egypt were living in poverty while a Dictator thrived and they are now free, basically without ever firing a shot. It's pretty amazing and I am happy for them. Fox is the only station that keeps reporting that the Muslim Brotherhood is looking to take over, but every other station reports the complete opposite. Every once and a while I browse to see what it is they are talking about, it's nonsense and some times it is basically non-facts. Even our local Fox News station does not have the professionalism that the other stations do. Not that they are right leaning but just not real professional. Hollywood news gets more play than day to day news.

The USA sends $2 BILLION dollars to Egypt each year! We sent MILLIONS to Saddam Hussein plus military technology and weaponry! The USA is not the world power because all our so called allies are just paid thugs to do our biding as was the case with Iraq until that dictator said NO! Its up to the people here in America and so far I don't see the numbers, the unemployed especially the 99ers wouldn't see the media until there are numbers in the thousands or even hundreds! We can talk about no money but we have to get out there in numbers! They covered 24/7 the chaos in Europe and now Egypt while the unemployed go without income and no jobs. Something is not right with this picture!

I said the same thing before, America needs to take of herself FIRST!!! The Pres told Egypt we're ready to send help if needed. How can he offer help to a 3rd world country and he can't help his own country? No It's so hypocritical.
