New Biotech Jobs Come To Massachusetts
New Biotech Jobs Come To Massachusetts
HighRes Biosolutions
has been awarded a $125,000 tax incentive by The Massachusetts Life
Science Centre in exchange for HighRes’ pledge to create new jobs.
The initiative will result in new biotech jobs. The company, a
specialist in the arena of design and construction of innovative robotic
systems and laboratory devices used by pharmaceutical, biotech, and
academic research laboratories, will create at least 10 new jobs in
2011. HighRes is one of only 30 companies in the Bay State to receive
such an award.
The Centre’s Life Sciences Tax Incentive Programme is aimed at
spurring growth in the state’s medical device, pharmaceutical and
biotech firms. Jobs created as a result of the incentives must be
maintained at least five years. The Massachusetts Life Sciences Centre
is a quasi-public agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts tasked
with implementing the Massachusetts Life Sciences Act, a 10-year, $1
billion initiative that was signed into law in June of 2008. The
Centre’s mission is to create jobs in the life sciences and support
vital scientific research that will improve the human condition.
