New Walmart to bring 300 jobs to Newberry Township
The new Walmart Supercenter to open in Newberry Township is bringing 300 jobs to the area. The store, at 50 Newberry Commons, has about 300 jobs that need to be
filled before the spring opening. A temporary hiring center at 40
Newberry Commons began accepting applications earlier this month. The store will be hiring for both full- and part-time positions in all
areas of the store, including supervisory roles, according to a news
release. Store manager Justin Sierer said he plans to hire about 150
people in full-time and 150 in part-time jobs. The majority of the people hired will begin working in April to help
prepare the store for its grand opening in the spring. Sierer said the
store is tentatively set to open May 18. Applications can be dropped off at the hiring center 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday and Fridays; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays;
and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Interested applicants can also apply
online at walmartstores.com/careers/7745.aspx.
