Article by Joseph E. Stiglitz coming out in May 2011 Vanity Fair--
http://www.vanityfair.com/society/features/2011/05/top-one-percent-201105
The top 1% of wealthiest Americans get & have.....
25% of the nation's income
40% of the nation's wealth
In 1986 they got & had.....
12% of the nation's income
33% of the nation's wealth
'All the growth in recent decades--and more--has gone to those at the top.'
'The top 1 percent have the best houses, the best educations, the best doctors, and the best lifestyles, but there is one thing that money does not seem to have bought: an understanding that their fate is bound up with how the other 99 percent live. Throughout history, this is something that the top 1 percent eventually do learn. Too late.'
There's alot more than that in this terrific article.

Thanx guys.....actually Tazzy posted it first.....thanx Tazzy!!
At this rate I'm estimating that by the year 2036 the top 1% will have--
37% of the nation's income
47% of the nation's wealth
Only way I can see them achieving that lurid goal is via Soylent Green.

Oops!!! Didn't mean to confuse you. I happen to have a copy of Soylent Green in my home. Do you remember that Dick Van Patten was in that movie? I almost fell over the first time I watched the movie.
