Ryan's "Path to Prosperity" voted down in the Senate 57 - 40!
The budget failed by a vote of 57-40.
Voting with all of the Democrats were Sens. Scott Brown (R-MA), Olympia
Snowe (R-ME) — both 2012 incumbents — along with Sens. Susan Collins
(R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). Rand Paul (R-KY) voted against it
because it wasn’t radical enough.
Also listed in this article are the names of the 40 Senators who voted for it.

Thank God is right. Interesting, Sen. Murkowski - no. Didn't see McCain's name at all.

Here's the Senate vote on Paul Ryan's budget (40 yes-57 no)--
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=s2011-77
They also voted on Rand Paul's budget.....which got a whopping 7 yes votes. Yuk yuk yuk.
They also voted on the 'Senate Republicans' budget.....sponsored by Pat Job-Killer Toomey.....which got 2 more yes votes (42 yes-55 no) because Lisa Murkowski & Rand Paul voted yes on it.
In addition they voted on President Obama's budget.....which failed resoundingly 97-0 (three senators were off whoknowswhere).
Meanwhile today Bill Clinton was complaining loudly that the Democrats don't have a plan. Gee thanx Bill. With friends like you who needs Republicans. In fact the Democrats *do* have a plan.....it's called THE PEOPLE'S BUDGET.
When will the Senate hold a vote on THE PEOPLE'S BUDGET??!!??

The American people deserve a Senate vote on THE PEOPLE'S BUDGET!!

I am surprised Rand Paul voted no on this. He doesn't have to face re-election in 2012. He probably voted no because it didn't immediately put seniors in concentration camps, unless they are millionaires of course, and didn't go far enough.

Same old stuff we have been seeing for the past two or three years! Negotiations back and forth, using the American people as pawns in the deals they will offer back and forth, not coming to any agreement until the last possible moment (if they can come to an agreement), more threats of shutdowns and lay-offs.........
We just went through this in April with the 2011 budget. This one can't wait that long though because we reach the debt ceiling on August 2. This is going to be an epic battle and the losers are going to be us!

That essentially appears to be Paul's reason although he phrases it a bit less threateningly. Far enough for him would probably be feudalism.

I'm hoping that people are beginning to see that the Republicans' grossly belated and patently bogus concerns about the budget are a smoke screen for their extreme right wing social engineering. Someone must have slipped a small dose of truth serum into one of Newt's cocktails.

This was a great day for everyone under 55, and I think most seniors also saw through the Ryan/Republican cynical strategy of divide and conquer. The over 55 age group would have been next in line to see Medicare replaced by increasingly inadequate vouchers.

When is Capital Hill going to vote for the same healthcare that the bottom 60 million citizens get?
There jobs are not permanent and don't deserve any benefits. Now, I sound like Rand Paul.
