GB--Gotta admire your relentless positivity about the number of jobs created & the unemployment rates. God knows that unemployed Americans really need some kind of hope that one day soon American jobs will return in a big way & we won't have this endless Jobs Deficit.
The USA will hit a *BIG NUMBER* on Fri. June 4th. The national U3 unemployment rate will officially break the record set in the early 1980's for number of months with the rate at 8.0 or above.
http://portalseven.com/employment/unemployment_rate.jsp?fromYear=1948&toYear=2011
(After clicking link scroll down to see the U3 table 1948-2011.)
As of June 4th.....the US will have endured over 8% unemployment for 27 months. (The prior record set in the early 1980s was 26 months.)
Thanx for the link to the article called 'Employers Probably Hired Fewer Workers in Latest Sign That the US Economy Is Slowing'.....as we know the *EXPERTS* who produce these 'estimates' are *always wrong*. When the official govt U3 & U6 rates & Nonfarm Payrolls numbers come out a few days later these *EXPERTS* are always way off. The purpose of their 'estimates' is so Wall Street Banksters can *gamble* on what the official govt numbers will be. When the official numbers come out on June 4th--the winner banksters will collect their winnings & the losers will pay up. Frankly it's pretty disgusting that this kind of thing takes place on Wall Street. I'd understand if it were Las Vegas.....
June 4th we'll be at 8.9%.....hmmmmmm.....when it's 4% or 5% then the USA will finally be out of the crapper. Meanwhile unemployed & underemployed Americans are suffering incredibly while other countries are rising to the top with all the offshored & outsourced American jobs.
Meanwhile the *EXPERTS* are spreading propaganda that there are 'plenty of jobs' if only Americans were 'skilled' or 'trained' to fill them. Friggin liars ship every job they can overseas then make up lies that there are plenty of jobs. Recently McDonald's got 1 million applicants when advertising 50,000 jobs.....& only hired 60,000 people.....rejecting the other 940,000 Americans who applied.

Funny how two faced the gov. is! They want to shut McDonald's down because of unhealthy menus but yet they love to use their false job hiring numbers!

Re: US Economy Created 185,000 Jobs In May: Surveys
Two positive benchmarks that Friday's jobs data might produce:
If the number of jobs created is over 100,000, that would make four consecutive months of over 100,000 jobs created. That hasn't happened in five years (Jan-Apr 2006).
If the number is positive - even if it's only +1K - that would be the eighth consecutive month of job creation - the first time that has happened in almost four years. (Nov 2006 - Jun 2007)
http://www.data360.org/dsg.aspx?Data_Set_Group_Id=340&count=100
The surveys would have to be catastrophically off for both these not to happen.

One more possibility:
If the number somehow comes in above 200,000, that would be the fourth consecutive month of over 200,000 jobs created. The last time 200K+ jobs were created in four straight months was Oct 1999 - Jan 2000. Over eleven years ago.

Re: US Economy Created 185,000 Jobs In May: Surveys
Hip, hip, hooray. Why are we still unemployed?
Everytime I call the employment agencies, they tell me how slow it is but it's picking up. I sent out resumes, no answer. Part time jobs, low paying jobs and temporary jobs are all listed but nothing for me. If it's getting better, WHERE ARE THE JOBS!
We know how the government and media love to spin numbers to make you believe how great the economy is improving. If the information is true, why aren't you GabrielBerg working? Not to be nasty but I'm very depressed. Not working over 2 years does that to a person. I heard this BS before and it will not help my situation.

Re: US Economy Created 185,000 Jobs In May: Surveys
The ADP Employer Services report showed private employers added a scant
38,000 jobs last month, while April private payrolls were revised down
to an increase of 177,000 from the previously reported 179,000.
Economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast a gain of 175,000 jobs for
May.
You are right, 1208 - that is from Reuters via the Huffington Post. The same figure is also being reported on MSNBC and the AP.
Housing Market double-dip yesterday, way below expectation jobs added today - Great Depression III !!
