It seems the IT jobs I apply for vary in pay from 12$ to 18$ an hour...

The recuiters from India want me for 10$, they just seem stuck on ten..

I have contracts with some recruiters who when I put 9$ on the application erase and put ten....as a minimum pay rate..

I would take a 9$/hr contract for 3 months at this point (even 8$...)

but then if you price yourself to low...it makes you seem out of touch with what the job is really worth....

PS...i have wondered if I mimiced the pidgen english that many IT personal are noted for if it would further along my resume....considered adopting the username of Chopra, but my Polish surname would ruin it...

I am thinking of this as i read my post and saw how i spelled recuiters.....

I went thru school via the web and all the IT undergradute assitants were terrible spellers....I had an graduate student i was in contact with for over a year named

Jorthi....didnt know it was a She for year...

$10 for an IT job? That is really sad. This is what I mean you mentioned recruiters and seems more and more companies are outsourcing even HR.

For every ten jobs I apply for 70% are recruiters....

That really stinks. Stinks even more realizing these aren't even American recruiters. That frustrated me to no end.

I have phone calls from all over the country, almost all are american based companies, but the only ones who got me to go so low were the recruiters from India..

I hate to stereotype but the Indians I've dealt with were cheap as well. I went on an interview where the owners were Indians and they wanted to pay me $9 and make sure I stayed thin and single (not kidding). Years ago when I modeled I hated dealing with them because they always wanted to pay me below my rate (I usually declined).

I have friends who are waiting tables for 6 hours and bringing home $100 a day......but then I am to old and grizzly for that...

I am not all that ugly and when you consider that i am really 160 years old considered by some quite handsome.....but still 160

I also have a female friend that refuses to submit an application to any job that requires a photo....she is that pretty but wont work for that type of employer...

I am seeing a lot of employers asking for photos. I have some great photos but I find it offensive. Most of these aren't even looks based jobs either, one was an IT job.

No offense at all. I don't model anymore (I'm really too old now) but yes many models I worked with were complete airheads.
