The way I understand it, we would be eligible (I,too became a 99er but it was in May 2010), if what he proposes would be in the same vein as HR 589, that is, if they extend the EUC (tiers 1,2,3) and attach more weeks to any of those tiers. If you collected the 3 tiers of EUC, that would make you eligible...any one else's thoughts?

If you were eligible for EUC08 (the federal tiers and state eb), then you would be eligible for the 14 additional weeks added to Tier 1 that HR 589 proposes. My benefits exhausted in March 2010, and I would be eligible for the additional weeks IF HR 589 is included in any legislation regarding unemployment extensions.

I'm not overly hopeful, but one thing about this go around is that unemployment is HUGE in the news where every time in the past (even in December) it was nothing but a blip on the public radar.
Re: 99ers from 2010
Been a 99er since mid July of 2010. That " bump " would be nice ! But, I'm not holding my breath waiting for it !!! Betcha the President does not even mention us 99ers in his speech Thursday night !!!
