Employers May Have Added ~190,000 New Jobs In February: Surveys
The jobs report for February will be released on Friday at 8:30 a.m. by the Department of Labor.
Surveys conducted by the three financial news agencies expect the report to show that the economy added about 190,000 new jobs for the month:
Nonfarm payroll estimates
Reuters +178,000
Bloomberg +190,000
Dow Jones Newswires +192,000*
Despite the large rise in jobs, the jobless rate is expected to rise from 9.0% to 9.1%

I wonder if this will turn out to be accurate.
It's still not enough to bring the number of unemployed down. There's more new entrants into the workforce per month than that.

I have seen in Charlotte NC area, a number of new jobs announced lately. Most are from a company XXX relocating here, so that just means wherever they were, a bunch of folks lost their job.

The estimates are almost never exactly correct. And in the past 3 months, the actual number has been far below the estimates.Jen wrote:I wonder if this will turn out to be accurate.
And most people consider the official jobless rate is a joke. The argument is that there is no way the unemployment rate fell 0.8% in two months.
