The last couple of weeks have noticed that TP Bots that comment after various stories around the web had added 'get rid of the AARP' to their standard rants. Wondered what that was all about. It's an unwise tactic on the part of the TP. It will backfire on them. It's good that somebody is coming out to defend the AARP even if the writer does it in such a strange way.....seeming to attack them for inaction. They've done plenty & bully for them. Unbelievable there are House hearings against them. That's probably Darrell Issa in action. Anything to get the Republicans elected.....even if it means tossing the seniors overboard. The seniors will have something to say about that.....at the ballot box in 2012.

It's sad that AARP never stood up for the unemployed as we all spoke about last year, and they still continue to stay silent since the unemployed don't have money to help AARP, but it is really amazing to see the GOP go after every supporter of Obama, and the Dems... I have a feeling the 2012 election cycle is going to be Vicious I think it will be the worst that has ever been seen....

It's really easy for those outside an advocacy organization to say that the members of that group aren't *doing enough*. Alot of people probably say that about DAWU. I have faith & confidence in AARP.

Why do you think that the Republicans are attacking them?? Because they have supported the Unemployment Exhaustees since the first.

The GOP party can't touch the giant AARP. AAPR has enrolled between 7 to 40 million people plus billions of dollars in the bank. They are lobbyists and have the money to pay off all the democrats. They will block all of GOP's efforts to destroy Medicare Program and it makes the GOP party angry. Too bad for the GOP because they are fighting with a giant that won't back down.

Absolutely Phillymg and Gigi, the R's/TP's can rant all they want, but AARP is on the side of senior citizens including those age 50 and up, the disabled, unemployed, etc and will fight back against the GOP. I believe that the GOP group has just swatted a huge hornets net, and it makes me smile.
