President Obama's Bold Vision for Public Transit

China's investing massively in high-speed rail & other public transit b/c they're not stupid & also not controlled by the Big Oil Lobby. With what's happening in the Mideast it's likely the cost of gas will *SKYROCKET* & sooner than anyone realizes. Getting to work, shopping, etc. by car will become extremely expensive. America needs a strong public transit now!!

Re: President Obama's Bold Vision for Public Transit
We have needed mass transit since the 70s and it hasn't happened yet. The new governor in Wisconsin turned down the high-speed rail project, but still wanted to have the money to spend on fixing the roads. Washington didn't agree and the state lost that funding.

European companies to build those trains, employing/importing engineers and workers from other countries to build them. So, even if the high-speed rail does go through, it will not create jobs for us. Quite the contrary, since we will see a massive influx of new and supposedly better educated workers.
