Roundtable survey shows bosses' confidence jumped in the first quarter
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42338462/ns/business-eye_on_the_economy/
BOSTON — U.S. chief executives' view of
the economy brightened in the first quarter, with 92 percent expecting
sales to rise over the next six months and more than half looking to add
jobs, according to a survey.
The Business Roundtable's quarterly CEO Economic Outlook index surged
to 113 -- the highest in the nearly 10 years the group has been doing
the poll.
"Our CEOs see momentum in the economy over the next six months, with
increased demand fueling greater investment and job creation," said Ivan
Seidenberg, CEO of Verizon Communications Inc, who serves as the
group's chairman.
I wish is was true but, I believe that some of these CEO's are lying. They don't really believe that there is going to be increased demand with the gas and food prices skyrocketing and wages plummeting and unemployment not getting better. I think that they think if they say this then it will cause people to go out and buy stuff. The problem is that it's not going to work because most people know that it's all lies and most people can't afford to buy anything anyway.
