Article on Should You Move for a Job?
http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/if-you-are-unemployed-should-you-move-somewhere-else-in-order-to-find-a-job
its risky, we moved and husband lost the job we moved here for. It was a bad choice, we lost community and other supports, but then we could have been worse off too. No way we could have just made it on my check and he was able to get freelance work not available in the other place. I wish we hadnt left because when collapse comes the other place would probably have been safer but would be moot point if we couldnt even keep an apt going.
Make sure you research. A lot of places people think are doing well, aren't.

Also if you need a job bad enough then it is an assumed risk! But you hope for a good outcome!

Re: Article on Should You Move for a Job?
You need all the information about the job and area you're interested. It's hard moving family into an area without any information. Sometimes, the person who will be working should move to the new area and then bring the entire family later to the new place. Just in case it doesn't work.
