Coburn, arch enemy of UI extensions, now attacking Medicare
He has out-Ryaned Ryan, and he got crazy old Joe to buy into this plot.

Re: Coburn, arch enemy of UI extensions, now attacking Medicare
Coburn is a cliche of himself. He's like my worst nightmare of what a Republican would be. Yes, I remember Dr. No holding up UI extensions.
He's pro-life, pro guns, anti-gay - total fiscal and social conservative.
Sometimes, I just want to ask - who voted for these mean spirited politicians?

Now, I see it - he and Leiberman came up with a plan to slash Medicare by 640 billion over ten years and move the age up to 67.
Here's what Pelosi had to say:
"It is unfair to ask seniors to get less in benefits and wait longer to get onto Medicare -- all while Republicans back tax breaks for Big Oil and corporations that ship American jobs overseas," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) "Just like the Republican plan to end Medicare, this proposal is unacceptable, especially for struggling middle-class Americans."

It is bad enough many of us exhaustees were forced onto early Social Security. Now they want to raise the age to 67 or abolish it all together.
When can we eliminate all politicians medical insurance, even if their retired, resign and lost an election. They can vote themselves a raise and not increase SS pay. We need to retaliate.

It is bad enough! Republicans need to keep their hands off SS and off Medicare! Enough of giving to the rich and taking away from the poor.

Also, they want to cut SS benefits further by using an even stingier COLA formula than the present formula while raising Medicare premiums. As it is, the SS checks minus Medicare premiums barely (if at all) keep vast numbers of seniors out of poverty. These thing are being proposed by the right-wingers in the name of debt reduction, even though Social Security and Medicare haven't contributed a single penny to that debt.
