I wonder if this is true for our group here:
"The first is 4.2. That’s the percentage of Americans with a four-year college degree who are unemployed."
The following comment is true of not only politicians, it is true of the average employed American. Most have no clue how bad the job market is and reference their own experiences that predate the jobs crash.
"The same holds for the economy. The people running the country are not viscerally experiencing the depredations of this ghastly economic winter, and they lack what might be called the “fierce urgency of now” in getting the heat turned back on."

There are only two things that could change where this country is headed.
The first way would be to remove major money from elections, and the second would be a national riot. Sadly, I don't think the first one will ever happen until the second one does.
