We need to let Congress and our fellow Americans know where we stand on helping the unemployed! Then, tell your Friends and Family members how easy it is to vote and make a difference.

Jobs bill funded by a tax of .25% on every securities transaction.
The Dems tried to get this tax passed in Dec. 2009 but there was major pushback against it from Wall Street.

Curious as to who the Financial Services Roundtable is.....looked up its website.....yup it's the banksters.
http://www.fsround.org/
They have posted an undated 'Open Letter to the American People' saying among other things that 'The time has come to put capital and people back to work.' What they don't say is that their plan is to put capital and people to work in places like INDIA & CHINA not in the US.

From 1914-1966 the US had a financial transactions tax of .1% at issuance & .4% on transfers but it was rescinded in 1966. Currently the US has a .0034% tax on all stock transactions that funds the operations of the SEC.The head of the Financial Services Roundtable said he opposed the [2009] bill. "Nearly every American would be impacted by a new transaction tax, no matter how small it is, said president and CEO Steve Bartlett in a statement. "It would reduce the investment accounts for all Americans and erect a roadblock to capital flowing into the system--thereby limiting job growth and productivity. The proposal will expose Americans to double taxation--once when they buy a share of stock and once when they sell it."

I wonder what happened in 1966 that caused the rate change.
.0034% is 0% - that needs to change.
.0034% is 0% - that needs to change.
