Made in USA: Overseas jobs come home

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- It's still only a trickle compared to the
flood of jobs that America lost to overseas outsourcing in recent
decades. But some American businesses are bringing jobs home again. In Louisville, a closed General Electric (GE, Fortune 500)
appliance plant is being renovated to begin producing water heaters. An
existing plant in the same complex will start making refrigerators.
Both products are now being built overseas. Hiring of about 1,300
union-represented workers is due to begin this fall.

We all need to tell of these companies. Every time I get a foreign caller I am pretty rotten to them and it feels good.

Re: Made in USA: Overseas jobs come home
You get calls from General Electric?? Oh sorry I realize you're talking about call centers in general that are located in other countries (most of them are). When phoning for tech support etc I need help so don't look a gift horse in the mouth.....tho it's surely irritating when the foreigner on the other end of the line supposedly switches me to another person but just cuts me off so I have to call back & it keeps happening. But I've accepted the reality that most times a non-American is on the other end of the line & I've been pleasantly surprised recently to speak often to Americans when I call about a credit card or a bill etc. Frankly NWP the Call Center Jobs that have been outsourced are *few* compared to other jobs we don't see. Like millions of Americans who lost jobs when 42,000 factories closed & shipped jobs overseas. Or millions of US workers in Healthcare like radiography, transcription of dr's notes, & recordkeeping whose jobs went overseas. Or millions of US workers in accounting, finance, & business who found their jobs outsourced. The list goes on & on.new_wave_princess wrote:We all need to tell of these companies. But to me even one outsourced job is too many. I told one bill collector (from India) that I would pay my bill once the job came back to the USA. Click. However, seems every job that can be outsourced is. Even HR jobs are often outsourced and I get a few of those calls often.

Sorry to be the one to say.....bills must be paid or else.....no matter who is calling about them or from where. We can hang up on someone in Arkansas or someone in Bombay.....but just the same the bill must be paid unless a person declares bankruptcy. Even after we die creditors will swoop down on our relatives trying to get paid. Que Sera Sera.
