I personally know folks who are working under these conditions, and they are keeping quiet about it because they don't want to lose their jobs.

Yes, I saw an article like that one sometime ago, disgusted. The companies are making record profits and Republicans are worried they need more tax breaks to stimulate hiring.
But, right now consumption is down. For companies to be forced into hiring more people, we need more people to buy. For more people to buy, they've got to believe in the economy and get out there and spend some money. For the 99ers, they need a check to be able to spend.
We need more stimulus; not less to keep our economy on a trend to recovery. We need states to stop cutting unemployment. We need Republicans to stop cutting welfare, food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid because it devastates the poor and it scares the people who do have jobs when they keep hearing our Government is going broke, which is a lot of bunk.
Eventually, if the record profits keep up, the companies will be forced to hire more people. But, right now, a good part of the problem is the climate of fear that the GOP has forced on us.

HA my last job, I worked in that business 20 years, I was trying to do what 5 people used to do, when I started that kind of work. They acted like it could actually be done. LMAO I worked and slept. I made a ton of money, good thing I was single. No chance to date, to tired to have sex anyway, Work sleep work sleep that was it!
They are all highering more people in China , not here! Untill they do something that is linked to creating the JOB in the USA nothing is going to help. Tax cuts will most likely put more Chinese to work.
