Once again, they are trying to say that new weekly claims going down a little bit means that places are hiring. I don't see how they draw that line between the two but, I wish it was true.

I don't see how they can draw that conclusion either. As they stated, it is just a reflection of layoff rates.
Weekly applications for unemployment benefits are considered a gauge of the pace of layoffs.

Yep, it's all just more propaganda. I would like them to explain just how it is that every time the new claims drop a little bit that it means that employers may be stepping up hiring. Where are the jobs to prove it?Fewer Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week, suggesting
