Re: Extended Unemployment Insurance Stopping Short In Several States
HuffPost's ART DELANEY weighs in on the Three Year Lookback--
'Extended Unemployment Benefits Expire in These States Next'
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/19/extended-benefits-expire_n_851002.html
Mid-April 2011 thousands of North Carolinians have been suddenly cut off from federal Extended Benefits when their state's unemployment rate stands at 9.7%.
In Alabama, Alaska, & Kansas EB payments will stop mid-May.
In Arizona, Pennsylvania, & WashDC EB payments will stop mid-June.
New Jersey is set to lose EB in mid-June. The NJ legislature passed a bill to allow the Three Year Lookback (with no stipulations) but the bill is sitting on the desk of Governor Christie unsigned. If Christie vetos the bill.....thousands of New Jersians will lose Extended Benefits.

Re: Extended Unemployment Insurance Stopping Short In Several States
It's really sad that the NC legislature couldn't get its act together & pass the bill accepting the federal benefits before the religious holidays.
Eventually NC will pass the bill but in the meantime.....the families of thousands of unemployed workers who have been struggling to find jobs are suffering needlessly during the Passover & Easter holidays. Prayers for those abandoned unemployed parents & children in NC at this most holy time of year.
Many prayers also for the millions of Exhaustees/99ers forgotten by our nation.

Someone will pay for this. Keep the unemployment rate high without jobs, money, security and it will take a matter of time that we will see ugly protests. The poor outnumber the wealthy. When people can't feed their families, you think that the mob will be kind to the politicians, CEOs, bankers etc. No, it will turn very ugly. I still don't understand how many politicians think that unemployment benefits are welfare. All I know is, someone will pay for this.
