Walker really wants to down play this election saying it is all about Madison. I suppose he saw enough protesters in Madison to think they all came from that city, but honestly, people from all over the state are sick of what he's doing.
Can't we get some good political figures in WI? We had Feingold, but he was not reelected. Also remember Paul Ryan and Sen. Joseph McCarthy are also from this state. It almost makes me want to claim a new home state. Does anyone have any ideas?

Our new Governor put together a fair budget, an is already voted for!!!! Of course we had to suffer with Patterson for a few years, but at least we can say we didn't vote for him.

Looks like the unofficial recount (they're calling it 'canvassing') has closed down for the night. They roll up the sidewalks in the Midwest.
The WI counties will resume in the morning.

The 'canvassing' of the last few WI counties shut down for the weekend & will resume Monday morning. After that the Sec. of State wlll certify the votes & announce the winner. The declared loser has till Apr. 20th to request a recount. Don't know how long a recount would take.

With all but one county reporting its canvassing completed.....
Prosser is ahead of Kloppenburg by 7,304 votes.
Milwaukee County will not finish its canvass till Wednesday.
If the lead is more than 7,000 votes then the challenger must pay for the recount. If under that number then the state pays for the recount.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) could be in for a rowdy welcome from unions and liberal groups when he comes to Capitol Hill on Thursday to testify about his work on reducing the state’s budget deficit.
A coalition of liberal groups including People for the American Way, Common Cause and Public Campaign is scheduled to give a press conference outside the hearing room before Walker testifies, and union members are traveling in from Wisconsin to attend.

The current governor said that "outside agitators" were behind the protests at the capital. Almost everyone I saw was from Wisconsin. Now he's going across the country to get financial support for the Republicans facing recall in this state? How does this represent people from Wisconsin?

The FrontlineWisconsin website urges people to donate up to $8,000, or $1,000 for each state senator, to "send a message across America that the people we elect can take courageous votes and stand by their convictions.""
