AOL cuts 900 Jobs Worldwide 20 pct of Work Force

Layoffs not only in U.S. but also in India. I wonder if we will hearing about more layoffs overseas from U.S. companies.

"About 200 of the cuts are from AOL's content and technology departments in the U.S. The remaining 700 are at AOL's offices in India, which mainly provide back-office support to the U.S. But AOL spokesman Graham James said 300 of those will move to other companies, which are taking over support functions."

Now that would make it a massive double negative...and the economy is getting better? yeah right....Sounds like AOL is SOL...this service is so ad based, I stay totally away from AOL, MSN....barely trust Yahoo now..

Some teams lost 50 – 75% of the best team members with the lay off. It makes one wonder just how the decisions were made or was it just about the numbers?"

This is the exact same way that they did it to all of us where I worked except, they closed our whole location.

Companies have been using this method for a long time now. I think it's tactics like this that lead to PTSD in some of the people that lost their jobs.

It was so sudden with no warning and I think everyone else was in denial or shock because I was the only one that was visibly upset.
