Re: Most of the unemployed no longer receive benefits
Fancy this!!! I just recently retired at age 62, effective October 1st,2011. I recently notified my Michigan UIA web account and sent a message on November 18, 2011 to the MiUIA, that, I have retired and had no work or job offers for 3years and 4 months, and over 1050 applications and resumes were applied for. Now living on a company pension and Social Security benefits because of age (62). I received on November 21, 2011 a reply from the MI UIA that because I retired, and no longer work, that I have exhausted all entitlement to UIA benefits now or in the future. Fancy that !!! So, now I'm retired and now they ( Mi UIA) don't care any more !

Re: Most of the unemployed no longer receive benefits
As far as I know, nothing and no word. Just political rhetoric. When I checked Mi UIA, all they say is that EUC and EB will end on Dec. 31,2011. In Michigan, the only is 26 weeks of unemployment benefits,if again laid off. No EUC, and no EB. also heard in Michigan that starting Jan. 1st, Mi UIA that unemployment benefits may be only 20 weeks, instead of the 26 weeks for state benefits. Michigan is a Bummer!!!
