A snipet of the Presidents speech this morning.
Now just insert Congress in place of Qaddafi, and American for Libyan.
Our message is clear and unwavering. Qaddafi’s attacks against civilians must stop. His forces must pull back. Humanitarian assistance must be allowed to reach those in need. Those responsible for violence must be held accountable. Moammar Qaddafi has lost the confidence of his people and the legitimacy to rule, and the aspirations of the Libyan people must be realized.

NY Times columnist Bob Herbert is leaving the NYT soon to write a book soon.
Today, as usual, he hits the nail on the head regarding the issue of
bombing Libya while at the same time not taking care of “nation
building” in the United States. “So here we are pouring shiploads of
cash into yet another war, this time in Libya, while simultaneously
demolishing school budgets, closing libraries, laying off teachers and
police officers, and generally letting the bottom fall out of the
quality of life here at home,” Herbert writes. read it all right here

Re: Herbert: 14 Million Unemployed Yet $$ for Libya
I read his letter that was emailed today justifying the actions taken in Libya. What a bunch of hypocrisy. He can't take care of his own and then spews accusations of the in-human acts in 3rd world countries. The lewd, heathonist, barbaric ways the middle east people follow is their own problem. It'll never change no matter how many bombs are dropped. They're so far behind the times and their primitive religious beliefs will never change. What a waste of millions of dollars on Americas part and 1 life lost in the US military forces for this action is a complete disgrace!!! Their continuous battle for what the middle easterners believe has been ongoing for thousands of years. *WE* don't have any business being there. Take care of America first!!! Forget the people that hate the western world. I hate the thought that any American citizen would be fooled by these useless actions.

Re: Herbert: 14 Million Unemployed Yet $$ for Libya
This is insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sens. Jim Webb (D-Va.) and Edward Markey (D-Mass.) have both suggested the U.S. implemented its no-fly zone out of concerns over the stability of oil prices. Rising oil prices are crimping American consumers amid a fragile economic recovery.
But Lugar questioned whether the money being spent on military operations in Libya would be better spent elsewhere.
"Estimates are that about $1 billion has already been spent on an undeclared war in Libya, some would say only hundreds of millions, and that that will diminish in the days ahead," Lugar said. "But [who] knows how long this goes on? And furthermore, who has really budgeted for Libya at all? I have not really heard the administration come forward saying that, 'We're going to have to devote these funds, folks, and therefore it's something else we'll have to go or it simply adds to the deficit.'"
