Progressives tell Schumer we want a jobs bill not more caving to Repubs

The author of this article has a point - Democrats shouldn't be settling for the lowest common point with Republicans who are extremist. They need to put forth a bill based on what the people need - training for jobs, education - whatever we need to spur long term job growth. We need to be spending so more stimulus money should not be out of the question. Democrats need to hold true and fight!

I am with the progressives. I am sick and tired of the Dems caving to the Repubs.

Me too, Jen. Its time for our President and for Democrats to stand up to Republicans and their moral agenda to scourge the poor. They've tried to inflict damage upon America's most needy for far too long in the favoritism towards the rich. It needs to stop now!

The Congressional Progressive Caucus is sponsoring a "Speakout for Good Jobs Now Tour" and promoting the "People's Budget" (funding for HR 589 is included in this) in response to Ryan's "Path to Ruin". Here is the information from the CPC. Please email them your story, or attend one of their rallies if you live near one of their tour stops. They want to hear from the under and unemployed!

The Speakout for Good Jobs Now tour will feature stops in numerous cities across America giving Americans the chance to speak out about how the economy is affecting them. Members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus will listen to what everyday Americans have to say and take that back to Washington with them as they continue to fight to reinvigorate the American Dream — the ability to put in a day’s hard work for good wages and benefits so we can provide our children with a better future.
Tell us your story. Are you a single mom struggling to make ends meet? Are you a young college graduate working a part-time, minimum wage job? Are you unemployed or under-employed? Tell us about your situation and why you believe we need to make it easier to help Americans earn a fair wage for a hard day's work. You can also, using the appropriate box below, submit the link to a YouTube video where you tell us your story via video. Be sure to tag your video with "SpeakOut."
