Indiana Protests Continue

Post by JaneWI on Tue Mar 15, 2011 4:53 pm

This should get more media coverage.

Labor unions continue to rally each day at Ind. Statehouse

"INDIANAPOLIS | Four days after thousands of union workers attended one of the largest-ever Statehouse protests, union members rallied inside the Statehouse on Monday, and they plan to keep it up until House Democrats return."

The national mainstream media makes me sick. There are big protests still going on in numerous states and they never talk about it. They think that if they don't talk about it that it will just go away and everyone will stop. It's not going to happen this time. The protests are only going to grow and spread. Americans are fed up.

Today's news, the IN democrats are still in Urbana, IL and the GOP is trying to change some rules.

Where is the national coverage????

GOP budges on bill; Dems laud ‘positive step’

"The GOP threatened to raise fines to $350 a day for absent Democrats staying in Illinois just as the missing party’s leader said a resolution could be reached early next week."

Indiana GOP Wants Absent Dems Punished

"Indiana Republicans are looking at some changes in state law to deal with democrats who have been hiding out in Illinois for about a month to deny the state House of Representatives a quorum."

GOP:Democrats run, we'll get the job done

"Starting Monday Republicans in the Indiana General Assembly will try to salvage their agenda without the help of Democrats.

By now it's clear the Democrats are trying to kill 47 bills on the House calendar with a walkout that is in its fourth week. Those bills include the state budget proposal."

That is one of the reasons the GOP wants to get rid of NPR. Control the media and you control the people.

Thanks for posting the links. I wonder what's happening in Indiana right now. Last I heard, I thought the dem leader was going back to IN to try and work things out with the republicans, but I haven't heard a thing since. Does anyone know?
