The Illinois UXA
I am looking for people to start up a new UXA http://red-coral.net/UXA_Article.html We will need people in every town in Illinois that can organize a UXA chapter. I am near Moline Illinois and have tools enough to keep 100 people working.

Re: The Illinois UXA
Thanx for posting that really interesting article. You have a great idea for forming a UXA in your area of Illinois & eventually to all of IL. Lol you don't have to worry about an additional Stimulus bill or WPA-style program killing off your self-help venture like happened in the 1930s. One word of caution is that (you probably know this already & the article talks about how it happened in the 1930s) Powers That Be will see the UXA as competition & will sic the authorities on you folks calling you socialists & whatnot. Another wrinkle for modern times is the prevalence of Lawsuit Hucksters.....slip & fall etc. My uncle's small biz in CA almost got ruined by someone who sued him. The person had no leg to stand on but still my uncle had to pay $100K in lawyers' fees to win the case. He had some insurance that helped cover some of the costs so that helped. What I'm saying is that the modern world has even more weapons to use against UXAs than the UXAs faced in the 1930s. That being said I think you are an incredibly smart & brave person to undertake this venture. Best of luck with it!!
PS--Many thanx for your military service to our nation in the US Navy.

Re: The Illinois UXA
We have a few advantages that the original UXA did not have. The internet can unite people much faster than word of mouth and we have the record of what the UXA did to show us where they had trouble. Your concern is valid but we cannot live in fear. If we do nothing it would be worse than anything they can do to us. If they think me a slave they should be aware that my slave name is Spartacus.

Re: The Illinois UXA
Our ancestors were self sufficient and we can learn a lot from them. One of the best ideas that they came up with was to build floating factories http://www.energybulletin.net/stories/2010-11-19/boat-mills-water-powered-floating-factories on rivers. The factories allowed them to produce much of what they needed and skip the sleazy middlemen. The factories produced their own energy while creating jobs. We need to get away from the moronic idea that fiat money is wealth, wealth is water, food, energy, knowledge, freedom et cetera. My friend Pat Delaney has designed mills and lathes that can be built from worn out car engines http://groups.yahoo.com/group/multimachine/ A group in Wisconsin http://opensourceecology.org/index.php is designing tractors, backhoes et cetera at a fraction of the cost of buying them. I intend to build a floating factory http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Pioneeradventure/ capable of producing more floating factories. We can produce most of what we need ourselves, why do we need the powers that be?
