Hopefully Americans have studied history & know what this is about. *SLAVERY* wasn't just about cheap labor. It was about *free* labor.....& labor over which owners had *absolute* life&death control. Also poor whites were enslaved too thru the law known as Indentured Servitude. After the Civil War ended in 1865 slavery & servitude ended. But the KKK rose up in anger that blacks would be allowed to earn money for their labor. Black small businessmen were the particular targets of the KKK. If a black man tried to open a gas station or some other business.....it was the lynching tree for him. Till the Civil Rights Law passed in the 1960s....blacks were routinely denied employment then jailed for 'vagrancy' & forced to work for free for local farmers etc. on *chain gangs*. Poor whites also became victims of the chain gangs.
The rise of the KKK again with Barbour's support will bring back the Civil War imo. Maybe that's what he wants. What a guy.

Re: Haley Barbour & Keeping Blacks Unemployed Etc.
Last I checked unemployment rate in Mississippi was 11% and Haley Barbour made sure the state did not accept the money from the Feds for EB, the unemployed in Mississippi (and Louisiana) do not get the 20 weeks of extended benefits. I don't know how he sleeps at night.
