Obama's Previous Pledge
This was dug up after our President refused to take a stand with WI protesters.
(2007 campaign trail)
"If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I’m in the White House, I’ll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself. I’ll walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States. The workers deserve to know that someone's standing with them.”

I had heard about this. Either way it's a lose, lose situation. If he doesn't join the protesters he's slammed for going back on his word. If he joins the protesters he will be accused of wasting tax dollars during a financial crisis. Remember the flack when he went to India? How many talking heads talked about Obama wasting money on a diplomatic mission?

The double edged sword is, do you get involved in state politics, or not?

He still has time to go. I think these protests are going to go on for awhile.
