Final House Vote on HR4213—31 YES Votes by Republicans (22 July 2010)
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2010/roll463.xml

If one of these is your Congressman please ask him to cosponsor HR589. As Ben Franklin said, 'If someone has done you a good turn in the past, he is likely to do you a good turn once again.'

CA--Those are the Repubs who voted 'YES' IN FAVOR OF HR4213 when the final vote on that unemployment-compensation bill was held in July 2010. Because they voted YES on a UI extension once before they may be willing to co-sponsor HR589.

By the way I made an error on my list CA. Can you please edit your post & remove the quote of my list? I have corrected my list in my own post. Basically I put a TX Congressman instead of an OH Congressman.

If you remove my list from your post that will take care of the problem. Thanx!! Very Happy

TMKLBMT wrote:I understand that no one can say how quickly this will move. We all agree how quickly it SHOULD move- but as we have already seen- for whatever reasons, it is not on a fast track!

I wish that we had some sort of an idea of how things should move. Maybe based on previous experience (Tier 3 stuff- I was not around then?)?

If I am understanding correctly- it is currently sitting in a committee. Has been there for like a week now. Does a week in committee = certain death? If not, then when- two weeks, three weeks? If it makes it out of committee then does it goes to the floor- which apparantly some already think because of this article it is...but our best "inside" source says it is not true??

I am just trying to sort it all out and know so that I can be realistic.
The good news is that we have a bill to help the 99ers. The bad news is that most bills never make it out of committee. If this bill doesn't get any Republican co-sponsors then it will never (IMO) make it out.

Bilirakis will not budge. He is my rep here in Florida. Wrote numerous letters to him. He believes the previous bill is enough coverage for us.

I have already sent my Congresswoman Mary Bono mack (voted YES on 4213) an email asking her to support and co-sponsor.

I hate to be negative but IMO Republicans should have been on board BEFORE the bill was introduced. A phone call to fellow Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack from Barbara Lee carries a lot more weight than an email from me IMO.

If it does pass you should get a letter in the mail saying you will get more weeks.

Yeah as long as your benefit year is active, your claim is still open, you shouldn't have to do anything except wait for the notice as getthem stated.

Anyone from his district that could call and find out if this is true? Might be a little late today but I have reached my Congresswoman's office as late as 8 p.m. EST

Glad you finally found us!!! cheers
I don't know how it would work. I would imagine that they would make us file for the new benefit year and then get denied and then get moved onto the extension like they did last year in the middle of the other extensions.
