Mo. Senate OKs jobless benefits extension

The Missouri Senate voted 28-5 on Monday to advance a bill that extends
unemployment benefits for 10,000 Missouri families who have reached, and
those nearing, the 79 week cut-off, the St. Louis Business Journal
reports. Some Republican senators held up the bill for weeks until a
compromise was reached to identify and work to eliminate appropriations
for $250 million of federal stimulus spending projects in Missouri.
