Got Hired Today
I've been out of work since December 2010. I was hired today. $14.00 per hour to start through the agency for 90 days. Shipping and Receiving. Which is what I was used to anyway. I was trained in other various positions but I mainly was in S&R. So this is a blessing. I go tomorrow to be fitted for a mask. Which is required if I enter various departments. But not required in my department. The drive is a 39 mile each direction. But I will definitely move asap. Once I am hired on by the company after 90 days. I will move to $17.29 per hour.
I know I don't post here much, but I am here every day and I will still be here. As nothing is guaranteed with this job, I do hope it is permanent. I wish everyone good luck. I happened across this by being registered with this agency and doing jobs about 2-3 times per week for them. Some lasting a week, some only a day. But I never turned anything down.
Wish me luck. I will need it. It sounded promising and the hiring department was thrilled with my past experiences and work ethics with the agency. I was given priority with this job vacancy and when I was there Friday to do my interview there was no one else there. And they assured me I was given priority. Looks like they didn't lie.
I wish you all the best. I wish everyone could find a job.

Thank you!! Mr. Golf, how do I change it? I wouldn't want to keep it this way and working it doesn't seem fair to post using this name. Or does it matter? Not that I ever posted. Just recently started to once or twice. I'm rather shy.

Re: Got Hired Today
It's Okay Mr. Golf, Nothing is set in stone yet. So I will give it the 90days then the 90days with the company before I change my name. As I wind down this evening it has finally hit home that I will be going back to work tomorrow. I am certainly very lucky it hasn't been a year or two or more.... So it won't be hard to get back in the groove of things.... So, early to bed, early to rise No more late evenings.

Re: Got Hired Today
First day, fitted for some crazy mask. Barely can breath while using it. But it's better than breathing those fumes I suppose. Then I filled out some paperwork. The usual taxing information and such. Watched a few films. Had lunch with the higher ups. And came home. It's was a good day. Everyone seems very friendly. I even was able to go into my department and venture a little with my trainer. It appears that everything I will be doing in computer based and I am very familiar with it. I showed them what I know. And from the looks of it, no training will even be needed. That's nice. But was told I would be cross trained in other departments on an as needed basis and when I go permanent with the company (in 90 days) I will get my basic pay 17.29 hr plus an hourly extra for being multi-tasked trained. That's great to know. I was also given all the benefits package to look over during my 90 days so that I can familiarize myself with them before signing anything when the time comes.
I will check back in after a week and let everyone know how things are going.
Thank you for all your support.
