Life after 99 weeks' for the 99ers on Fox News today

The “99ers” is a term that has come from millions of unemployed
workers that have exhausted the allotted weeks of unemployment benefits
and cannot find work. This is the first time the 99ers have been given any length of time
on a national cable news program for some time now, bringing to light
that, yes, the long term unemployed are still out there!As much as the government would like the public to believe that the
job market is getting better, this is just not the entire picture. Jobs
are on the rise, but it is like saying you are able to put some money
away because you put a penny in the bank.

The segment on Fox News was a “feel-good” success story, but I have to
point out, it was one success story. A woman who could not find a job no
matter how hard she tried, developed her own business as a “personal
organizer.” Her website says - send her a picture of the room you want
to organize and for $55 she will send you back a detailed plan of how to
do this.
